Webcam filmmaking?

I was bored today, so I got my silly little spherical Logitech webcam, ran around my room with a stuffed animal, and some props. Some stop-motion and five hours later, there's a short film!

My question is, do other people do this? It seems to bypass the most annoying part of editing-the digitizing because you're shooting with a camera that you can't unplug from the computer. Of course it also looks like **** because it's a Webcam. And you're also leashed to your desk.

Seems like there should be a weird internet subculture of people who do this for non-pornographic purposes though. I would put a link to the thing, but I can't get **** -tacular Windows Movie Maker to save my file.

Sigh. Anyway, it's pretty fun for a while. If you're bored enough.

Actually, I would like to see your movie. It sounds like a PixleVisionesque type of movement.

I hope you can preserve it on a digital tape format before it disappears from your computer through some errant 2:00 in the morning key strokes.

one could allways attach the webcam to a laptop to have more freedom of movement...

yes, a laptop cam with built in extra large viewfinder. I wouldn't mind being the one filming the person trying to make a movie this way.
